WHY_CONVERT: HUS → PES
HUS is the native format for Husqvarna Viking embroidery machines — used by the Designer, Sapphire, and Emerald series. But Brother machines (the most popular home embroidery brand worldwide) can't read HUS files. If you want to share your Viking designs with Brother-using friends, customers, or online communities, you need PES.

PROCEDURE // 3_STEPS
1. UPLOAD YOUR HUS FILE
Drag and drop your Husqvarna Viking HUS file onto the converter, or click to browse. Files up to 50MB accepted. Works with any HUS file from Designer, Sapphire, or Emerald machines.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If upload fails, check that the file extension is .hus and the file isn't corrupted. Most Viking files convert without issues.
2. SELECT PES AS TARGET
Choose "PES (Brother)" from the format selector. Optionally select your target hoop size (4×4, 5×7, 6×10, or custom) and ThreadShifter will auto-scale the design to fit.
PRO TIP: Most Brother machines use 5×7 (PE800, SE1900) or 4×4 (SE600). Select the right hoop for best results.
3. DOWNLOAD & EMBROIDER

TROUBLESHOOTING: If the design doesn't appear on your Brother machine, format your USB as FAT32. Brother machines don't read exFAT or NTFS drives.

HUS is Husqvarna Viking's native embroidery format, used by the Designer, Sapphire, and Emerald machine series. PES is Brother's native format, used by every Brother and Baby Lock home embroidery machine. PES v6 files contain stitch data, thread color assignments, a built-in design preview image, hoop size information, and Brother-specific settings. It's the most widely supported format in home embroidery.

COLORS LOOK DIFFERENT ON BROTHER
HUS uses Husqvarna's color palette, which maps differently to Brother's PES system. The stitch data is preserved perfectly. Open the design on your Brother machine and reassign colors using its palette.
DESIGN WON'T FIT BROTHER HOOP
Viking designs may be set for larger hoops (especially Mega Hoop designs from Epic/Ruby). Select your Brother's hoop size in ThreadShifter's dropdown before converting. The converter auto-scales to fit.
FILE WON'T OPEN ON MY BROTHER MACHINE
Re-download the file. Check your USB format (FAT32, not exFAT/NTFS). If it still fails, the original HUS may exceed the Brother machine's stitch limit (~50,000 stitches). Try reducing complexity in digitizing software.
PREVIEW LOOKS DIFFERENT FROM ORIGINAL
The design preview thumbnail format is different between HUS and PES. The stitch data is correct — your Brother machine will stitch the design accurately. The preview is just a reference image.
DESIGN IS OFF-CENTER
Viking and Brother machines have different center-point origins. Re-convert with ThreadShifter's centering option enabled. If the offset persists, adjust the design position on your Brother machine before stitching.
