HUS is the proprietary embroidery file format used by Husqvarna Viking machines, including popular models like the Viking Rose, Viking Iris, and Viking Scandinavia series. HUS files store stitch data in three compressed binary blocks — commands, X-coordinates, and Y-coordinates — along with a thread colour table that maps to Husqvarna's 29-colour palette. The format supports up to 256 colour stops, making it well-suited for complex, multi-colour designs. HUS files are transferred to older Viking machines via proprietary memory cards and to newer models via USB.
